John W. Linss

Chairman & Founder

John Linss has over 30 years of experience in a variety of business & technology arenas. A serial entrepreneur, John has often provided executive coaching and has spoken and consulted on topics ranging from sales & marketing to technology, healthcare, and business strategy related to both business and government. He also has served as an adjunct professor in the Emory University Goizueta School of Business.

John's professional career has focused on establishing, acquiring, growing, or turning around innovative business ventures like FirstReef (SalesFusion), CCS, Giben America, BravePoint, Danckaert ClearNova, INTECH, CoreSpeed, CoreSpeed Hosting, MedicaView International, and MedServ Jamaica.. He employs proven techniques to strategically build teams and establish business foundations and systems capable of supporting rapid, profitable growth for his companies.

Now, as the Chairman and Founder of MedServ Global,  he and the team are defining and driving the emerging global healthcare market.

He has worked in both the private sector and government arenas building out enterprise/ecosystem solutions in a variety of industries. Some notable examples include Singapore Medicine marketing and infrastructure for Health Travelers, Siemens Medical Systems' first Intranet product, SciHealth's hospital quality and analytics management system, DeKalb County Board of Health case, financial, and health management infrastructure, Jackson Memorial Hospital International patient marketing and referral network infrastructure, US Government eTravel solution used by US government employees and contractors, Expedia travel ticketing integration, Travelocity Road Trip Wizard, Genuine Parts' NAPA integrated store management system, MedServ Jamaica's MemberFirst membership program and the JamaicaMed Medical tourism initiatives. John also consulted with government agencies/ministries to help them to capitalize on the growing health travel sector.

In 2008, John formed the CoreSpeed Incubator to facilitate innovative new businesses through the use of CoreSpeed's technology platforms and unique business processes. Brands that grew out of the incubator include CoreSpeed Hosting, now MedServ Global, and MedicaView International.

His earlier career involved building companies in the industrial machinery business where he engineered rapid business growth in mature markets. His formal education includes Bachelor of Science majors in Economics and Interpersonal Communications at the University of Georgia. He writes occasionally for various publications and is a contributor to the 1st and 2nd edition of Patients Beyond Borders. 

 

 
 


Gordon Church
 

Gordon L. Church

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Gordon Church has more than 30 years in the insurance and health care arena and is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in leadership roles with US insurance payers and healthcare provider organizations.

Gordon was among the first to implement a physician outcomes based pay-for-performance program. He also helped create Georgia’s most successful managed care program and provider/ payer partnership as Vice President of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia (BCBSGA). This success contributed to the acquisition of that organization by WellPoint in 2001. He then served as President and CEO of Promina Health System, a large hospital system in Georgia.

Initially focusing on operations and business development as a regional officer, he ultimately led the start-up, turnaround, and ongoing operations of national and regional managed care companies in the Midwestern and Southeastern US while working for HealthAmerica, Cigna, Equicor and BCBSGA.

Gordon has also served as an independent consultant and has been engaged by major international pharmaceutical firms and large regional health care systems to address health care financing issues, pay-for-performance, nursing shortages and international medical tourism. He has a Bachelor Arts degree in Political Science and Urban Planning from Appalachian State University.

Mike Schaefer works with large self-funded employers, TPAs, benefits consultants and managed care organizations to help with the strategic planning, benefit design, budgeting and implementation of the full suite of MedServ Global’s services.

Mike has more than 25 years of employee benefit and health care industry experience. Prior to joining MedServ Global he spent the prior 6+ years with Wells Fargo Insurance Services USA working with organizations large and small to gain control of their benefit dollars while implementing cutting edge programs to greatly enhance member health. Mr. Schaefer’s vast experience includes senior management positions for a variety of “blue chip” healthcare, insurance companies, health services and consulting firms.

He has assisted large payer and provider organizations in a variety of technology and human capital based initiatives that have greatly enhanced efficiencies, relationships and their ROI.Mike’s expertise spans the full range of health & welfare plans that includes:

• Benefit strategy and plan design • Benefit contribution strategies • Plan funding strategies; including budgeting for all health & welfare benefits • Carrier and administrator negotiations and renewals • Procurement of insurance and administrative services • Self-insured budgeting, underwriting, COBRA rates & IBNR • Plan administration procurement & oversight

Mike is a graduate of Franklin College of Indiana with a BA degree with concentrations in business and economics.

 




Jim Jimenez
 

Jim Jimenez, SPHR

Operations and Human Resources

Jim Jimenez has more than 30 years of experience in Human Resources and Operations leadership for diverse companies and organizations both as an internal resource and as a consultant.

As an independent consultant, he provided support to Habitat for Humanity International in Haiti and Southeast Asia.  In Haiti, post earthquake, he helped establish an “on the ground” human resources function that facilitated Habitat’s ability to help over 28,000 families to date.  Jim also provided HR support to 22 countries in Southeast Asia for the Pacific Area of Habitat International.  Following his return to the U.S., he participated on a team to develop the processes for Habitat Domestic Affiliates to source and select management for their Habitat ReStore retail concept, which will have up to 750 operating retail outlets across the US by year end 2011.

Jim has worked in both HR and Operations corporate roles for companies such as Contel Cellular, GTE Mobilnet and ALLTEL Communications (all now part of Verizon Communications). His focus in all HR roles has been to create competitive advantage by providing seamless human resources support to all operating functions and departments.  He has held the positions of Market Manager, General Manager and Vice President of multiple markets, with P&L responsibility up to $34 Million and has participated in acquisitions ($3.2 billion), divestitures and key property exchanges.   

Jim has a proven record of performance and leadership in sales and service organizations, government service providers and not-for-profits including Habitat for Humanity International (supporting disaster relief on the US Gulf Coast following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita), Samaritan’s Purse (Operation Christmas Child), Jr. Achievement and multiple local volunteer programs and projects.

Jim earned his Degree in Business while working full-time leading the staffing department and imbedded sales force for a start up technology company.

 

 

 

 



Kapil Bhalla

Kapil Bhalla brings over 13 years of experience in Information Technology, Systems and Product design to MedServ. His background includes deep experience in establishing the teams and infrastructure required to scale business operations from a technology point of view.

His proficiency extends across a wide range of technologies and methodologies which enables him to leverage the most suitable approach in delivering solutions for the business and for external customers. Many of these solutions have been complex and groundbreaking and leverage state of the art technology, integration strategies, and designs.

His product design and development approach incorporates considerations that support all aspects and facets of successful launches, customer support, and maintenance.  Kapil has successfully built multi-disciplinary teams focused on bringing products and solutions to market quickly and effectively in the most cost effective fashion.

Kapil has been significantly involved in the healthcare, travel, education and technology sectors. He has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, which received a Top 3 Indian Technical  School rating by US News and World Report.

 

 

 



Carol Yurick

Carol Yurick is a medical professional with over 20 years of experience working with a diversified group of healthcare companies such as Novo Nordisk and GlaxoSmithKline. Her experience and in-depth training in several medical specialties includes implantable medical devices, insulin for diabetes, antibiotics and respiratory products.

She has worked with hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers and clinicians specializing in endocrinology, orthopedics, spine, cardiology, neurology, otolaryngology, allergy and internal medicine.

Her consultative approach to patient care and commitment to providing exceptional customer service has been effective in developing long-lasting relationships with high customer satisfaction.

In addition to her experience in healthcare, Carol worked with an M&A Firm and owners of privately held companies to market and sell their businesses. She was responsible for networking with Angel Investors and Private Equity Groups. She was also an Ambassador for the Chamber of Commerce and developed many relationships within the community.

Carol received a BS in Business Administration and Management from LaRoche College in Pittsburgh. She also completed one year of an accelerated nursing program at Kent State University which included hospital clinical experience.

 

 

 

 

 

Richard Stokes

Richard Stokes has over 30 years of experience as a results-oriented senior-level sales, marketing, and distribution expert. 

Rich’s background in the consumer products and healthcare related industries established his keen understanding of what makes for success in the consumer products arena. He acquired and honed his innovative business management and leadership skills over a twenty two year career with The Coca-Cola Company and a four year tenure with The Procter & Gamble Distributing Company before that. 

His project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills has driven success for many strategic account and channel teams. He has also facilitated the design, implementation, and deployment of several consumer goods and Business 2 Business new product offerings to the U.S. market place.

Clients served during his career include but, are not limited to: AT&T, USB, One Source, Intel, Biotronics, The Coca-Cola Company, and Hamamatsu USA.

Rich graduated from Providence College with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Economics.

Ched Hoover has over 20 years experience working with financial services and technology companies, focusing on marketing, business development and public relations. His experience  includes extensive work with affiliates and partners that contribute to profitable business growth.

He spent more than 10 years in capital markets and real estate with firms including Nations Bank, Hall Financial Group, Days Inns of America and Interstate/Johnson Lane.

He was also a key member of the core team that founded NetBank. Netbank was one of the pioneers of the Internet banking industry and recognized as one of the first internet-only banks. It was a financial company engaged primarily in retail banking, mortgage banking, business finance and providing ATM and merchant processing services and also became a public company.

Ched holds a BBA from the University of Georgia and an MBA from Georgia State University.
